DSC research associate Maryam Movahedifar presented a talk at GPSD 2025 on preprocessing noisy time series using (M)SSA. Her contribution highlighted DSC's methodological work and will be submitted as a proceeding to the same conference she attended in Dresden.

Beginning of March the German-speaking Digital Humanities community gathered in Bielefeld for this year’s DHd conference. Nele Fuchs, our Data Scientist presented her poster "Data as a Bridge: Interdisciplinary Collaboration between Digital Humanities and Data Science in the DataNord Project."

A warm welcome to our new DSC research associate Nils Leusmann. As part of the BMBF-funded joint project “INDIFUN-AI”, he will be working in the field of data science at the interface of computer science and environmental & marine sciences.

With the DSC Seed Grant we support Andreas Breiter, co-founder and deputy spokesperson of the DSC, to co-design an AI-focused study at UC Berkeley to investigate the significance of AI-based systems in higher education from the students' perspective.

Researcher Gesche Brandt and our colleague Susanne de Vogel recently published their paper titled ?Normalising sequence lengths using the relative duration of episodes: an application to doctoral trajectories in Germany“.

As the first doctoral candidate of the DSC, Dr. Christopher Metz successfully defended his dissertation titled “Towards Sustainable Artificial Intelligence Systems: Enhanced System Design with Machine Learning based Design Techniques”.

On May 7th and 8th, the project meeting provided a stage for the six partner organizations to assess the advancements and chart the trajectory for educational innovation. Leveraging her expertise data steward Heike Th?richt provided invaluable guidance on data management.

On May 12, 2024, Sana Hassan Imam presented her paper on a generative AI model at the ACM CHI Generative AI Workshop 2024, bringing international recognition to the research at the DSC.
