Room of Silence
In 2012, a Room of Silence was established for all members and guests of the University of Bremen. It serves as a space of peace, meditation, and prayer and invites you to take a moment for yourself. The Room of Silence is open to everyone who wishes to use it in this sense – regardless of their worldview and religious affiliation. The users are united by a respectful and tolerant way of dealing with one another. The former Vice President Interculturality and Internationality, Yasemin Karaka?o?lu, emphasized in her opening speech:
"The Room of Silence is for all those who wish to withdraw from the often hectic everyday life at the university. [...] The concept [...] is a recognition of diversity lived on campus."
The Room of Silence is located in room B1800 of the GW2 Building, and is open from Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Reservations for the use of the room by groups are coordinated by the Diversity Management.
