09, Integrated Product Development

The professorship in the field of Integrated Product Development is oriented to teach in the areas of methodical and systematic product development. The professor teaches various courses in the fields of systems engineering, production engineering as well as engineering and management. In accordance to the subject orientation of the study programme, topics such as technical drawing, machine elements, design engineering and computer-aided engineering (CAE) are part of the portfolio.
Hereby, while a focus is placed on multidisciplinary aspects of product development, for example on integrated product data management, or on questions about material behavior, as well as on manufacturing processes and resource usage, the product life cycle is in the foreground.
In research areas of the group, experimental and theoretical work is carried out with a subject focus on product development, especially on automation and lightweight construction, and on the development of energy and resource-efficient production processes.
