Internationalizing School Practice
Our goal is to establish sustainable structures for international study-practice stays in teacher training at the University of Bremen. To this end, we are establishing viable cooperation structures for stays abroad and flexible practical semester formats with university connections abroad.

Practical Semester Abroad Scholarships 2026
The project ¡°Lehramt international: Reflecting Diversity and Inclusion¡± is funding four scholarships for study-practice stays (practical semesters) abroad in 2026 with funds from the DAAD. The target group is students studying to become primary school teachers and IP students (primary school and Gy/OS). The stays will take place between January and July 2026 at the following locations:
Toronto/Canada
- 10 Weeks (starting January 2026)
- Monthly 1.175€ flat-rate allowance + one time mobility grant
- School options: Central Technical School (Secondary School) / George Webster Primary
- Studies: University of Toronto
Winnipeg/Canada
- 15 weeks (starting January/February 2026)
- Monthly 1.175€ flat-rate allowance + one time mobility grant
- School options: Gordon Bell Primary (Inclusive Elementary) / Princess Margret Elementary School (bilingual D/E)
- Studies: University of Manitoba
Windhoek/Namibia
- 15 weeks (starting February 2026)
- Monthly 1.1225€ flat-rate allowance + one time mobility grant
- School option: St. Barnabass Primary
- Studies: University of Namibia
