Training courses offered by the Training and Further Education Centre of Bremen (AFZ)
Bremens training and further education centre offers a comprehensive range of further training courses for all employees of the Bremen authorities.
University employees can also take part in this programme. However, on the basis of an agreement between the Rector and the Staff Council, the qualification objective, organisational interest and expectations must be agreed in advance between the respective supervisor and the employee to be qualified in a statement of qualification requirements
The application procedure
Please discuss your training needs with your line manager and complete the statement of training needs together (form at the bottom of the page).
The following questions should be clarified in the joint discussion:
- What is the practical benefit of the selected or intended qualification for the work area?
- What are the specific learning expectations?
- How can it be ensured that what has been learnt can be put into practice (learning transfer)?
- What improvements are expected for the individual work situation?
- Which qualifications are to be developed?
The supervisors sign the statement and thereby document their agreement. Please note: In the case of health courses, only the consent of the line manager is required, not a statement.
You can find the registration form for the events on the website of the Senator for Finance (see below).
Please send the completed forms (registration form and statement) to Ms Baumk?tter or Mr Lewandowski. We will check the registration and forward it to the AFZ. You will receive confirmation or cancellation directly from the AFZ after the registration deadline for the respective event.

There is a separate form for registering for IT seminars. It is important to take the IT registration form and tick the box ‘with high priority’ at the bottom if you attach importance to preferential allocation of places.
Please note: Cancellations for business or personal reasons must be made at least 10 working days before the start of the seminar, otherwise the costs will be charged. This does not apply to cancellations due to illness.
