Institute for Electrical Drives, Power Electronics and Components

The Institute for Electrical Drives, Power Electronics and Components (IALB) is divided into two departments for scientific research and teaching. The research groups focus on Electrical Drive Systems (Prof. Dr.-Ing Amir Ebrahimi) and Electrical Engineering Components (Prof. Dr.-Ing Nando Kaminski).

 

Activities

The Chancellor of the University of Bremen, the Vice Chancellors, and the Chancellor's personal advisor visit the IALB.

On September 11, Chancellor Frauke Meyer and Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Michal Kucera and Dr. Mandy Boehnke from the University of Bremen visited the Institute for Electric Drives, Power Electronics, and Components (IALB). 

Excursion to Lloyd Dynamowerke GmbH: practice meets theory

On June 21, 2025, the IALB's Department of Electrical Drive Systems and Power Electronics visited Lloyd Dynamowerke GmbH (LDW) in Bremen together with students from the Bachelor's lecture Electromagnetic Energy Conversion.
