Prevention and Health Promotion
Our teaching focus
The department is primarily involved in teaching for the BA Public Health / Health Sciences and the Master's programme Public Health / Health Promotion.
We supervise bachelor's and master's theses and dissertations in all of our research areas.
Our main research areas
Prevention and health promotion are key elements of a sustainable health policy. However, heterogeneous approaches are hidden behind these terms. In our department, we investigate and develop the content and conditions of effective disease prevention and health promotion interventions. In particular, we study the interactions between individual factors influencing health and health behaviour and environmental factors, such as care structures or resources in the immediate geographical environment. We also take a life course perspective and are interested in social inequalities.
