Summer School: “Social Policy & Ecological Sustainability”
From September 7th to September 13th 2025 the second Summer School organized by the Sustainable Welfare and Eco-Social Policy Network in cooperation with the German Institute for Interdisciplinary Social Policy (DIFIS) will take place at the Domshof Forum of the University of Bremen.

The Faculty of Law and the Centre for European Law and Policy (ZERP) mourn the loss of Prof. Dr Dr h.c. Christian Joerges, who passed away on 18 July at the age of 81 after a long illness.

The four teams from the Faculty of Law at the University of Bremen are qualified for the quarterfinals of the Justus Liebig Moot Court. This means that half of the teams participating in the oral rounds are from Bremen.

Research excellence at the new location
Research at international top level is carried out at Forum am Domshof - this is a result of the current Times Higher Education ranking where the Bremen Faculty of Law is listed among the top ten percent worldwide and takes first place among German universities.

On 13th January 2025, an excursion to the port with the harbour police took place as part of the lecture series "Water Legislation" of Prof. Dr. Katharina Reiling.

Doctoral Awards Ceremony 2024
On 19 November 2024, this year's doctoral awards ceremony of the Faculty of Law took plance in the Kaminsaal of Bremen Town Hall. Following a speech of the Dean Prof. Dr. S?nke Florian Gerhold and a welcoming address of the Senator for Justice and the Constitution Dr. Claudia Schilling, the graduates were presented with the Ph.D. certificates.
