From 21-22 November 2024, the Universities of Groningen and Bremen hosted an international conference on ‘Good and bad practices in European Housing Law and Policy’.

On 19 November 2024, this year's doctoral awards ceremony of the Faculty of Law took plance in the Kaminsaal of Bremen Town Hall. Following a speech of the Dean Prof. Dr. S?nke Florian Gerhold and a welcoming address of the Senator for Justice and the Constitution Dr. Claudia Schilling, the graduates were presented with the Ph.D. certificates.

The Faculty presents itself, on Wednesdays, 11.00 a.m., Forum at Domshof.

From 24 - 27 September 2024, the Field of Specialisation Labour and Social Security had the pleasure to take part in the 74th German Jurist Forum (DJT) in Stuttgart.

On 7 October, the Mayor and President of the Senate Dr. Andreas Bovenschulte, himself a gradudate of the Faculty, welcomed the new first semesters at Forum at Domshof. Following the welcoming speech, he was accompanied by students to gain an impression of the excellent facilities at the new location in the city centre.

This year, for the second time, the team of the Faculty of Law at the University of Bremen reached the final rounds of the Justus-Liebig Moot Court in Giessen. The team, consisting of Anastasia Eberle, Sebastian Mario Mosqueda and Simon Luca Wedemeyer, will compete against a team from the University of Tübingen in an oral moot court hearing in the field of private law in the semifinals on 11 July 2024 at the University of Giessen.

On Thursday and Friday, 20-21 June 2024, Prof. Dr. Gralf-Peter Calliess and Dr. Nicholas Mouttotos convened an international conference on the topic of Informed Consent to Dispute Resolution Agreements. The Conference aimed at exploring the latest developments in contract law and private international law in relation to consent to such agreements.

At the invitation of the presiding judge of the 11th Senate, Prof. Dr. Christoph Külpmann, the students attended the hearing on the action brought by two Hessian municipalities against the planning permission of the extra-high voltage line Ultranet .

On 28 June 2024, the block event of this year's seminar in the university elective field of specialization "International and European Business Law" took place. The topic was: "Mergers & Acquisitions: Cycle of a Corporate Transaction"

On 28 June, 65 graduates together with their families and friends attended the annual graduation ceremony of the Faculty. The prize for excellent achievements in the first legal examination, once again donated by the law firm Blaum Dettmers Rabstein, was awarded to Iasone Gutierrez Canas-Pazos (1st prize), Deike Schr?der-Pinnecke (2nd prize) and Tim Poplat (3rd prize).
