Prof. Yvonne Rogers

is the director of the Interaction Centre at UCL (UCLIC), at University College London and a professor of Interaction Design at UCL since 2012.Professor Rogers is recognised for fundamental research in the field of human-computer interaction (HCI), in which she researches, designs and evaluates technologies that enhance or complement human capabilities. At the University of Bremen, Yvonne Rogers and her Bremen colleagues conduct research at the high-profile research area “Minds, Media, Machines” (MMM) on how personal health data can be used in combination with AI methods from a human-centred perspective to increase the well-being and health of its users. Yvonne Rogers is one of the leading researchers in the field of HCI and has developed new HCI theories and methods, such as the theory of external cognition, and the method of "in the wild studies". She is pioneering work in the field of ubiquitous learning and has developed a number of empirical research papers on how interactive technologies can best support collaborative learning and working. She was recently made a Fellow of the UK Royal Society, one of its most prestigious awards. She is co-author of the textbook on interaction design, which has sold over 200,000 copies worldwide and has been translated into 6 languages.
