Bremen Research & Policy Lab (BreLAB)
The BreLAB is a scientific infrastructure of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Bremen. It offers IT equipment and services for laboratory-based research for members of the department and the university as well as for external researchers.
In the BreLAB, classical economic and social science experiments are carried out in modern, fully equipped cabins. The laboratory is continuously building up a pool of students to conduct experiments. In addition, BreLAB provides the spatial and digital infrastructure to interactively visualize research data and simulations for groups of subjects. This part of the laboratory, known as the "Policy Lab", allows direct input from stakeholders in the respective project context.
Both infrastructures - the classical experimental laboratory and the policy lab - can be used independently or in combination. The provision of both infrastructures under one roof is unique and is intended to facilitate the further development of specific research methods.
