Educational Sciences for Primary and Early Education

According to Section 13 (2) of the General Parts of the Bachelor's and Master's Examination Regulations dated June 11, 2025, the deadlines for registration and deregistration are exclusively dependent on the information in the examination schedule.
There is a separate examination schedule for each subject.
You can look up the deadlines for the examinations in your subject at this link.

Registration for the exam is mandatory in each semester in which you wish to take the exam. This also applies to retakes after a failed attempt or sick leave.

Automatic registration does not take place!

Further information is available under “Information on exam matters.”

If you are unable to register or deregister via PABO, this may be due to the following reasons.

  • Module results from the departments are still pending (please contact the module coordinator)
  • You have already passed the module (please check your study progress on PABO)
  • There is a different registration and deregistration period (see exam schedule).
  • You are not enrolled in the degree program.

If you are still unable to register, please contact the relevant office at the Central Examination Office immediately.

If you encounter technical problems within the PABO portal, please contact us immediately during the registration period using this form.

We recommend that you keep your General Studies certificates for the first few years of your studies and do not hand them in to the Central Examination Office straight away.

- Once your credits have been registered, they cannot be exchanged!

This gives you the opportunity to set your own individual focus and, at the end of your studies, have the certificates that correspond to your objectives entered.

- Graded certificates of achievement must also be entered with a grade.

Please consider in advance whether you want to complete the course with or without a grade and inform your lecturer accordingly.

- Submission of transcripts

When submitting your General Studies, please always bring the original and a copy with you. We will compare the two, keep the copy for your file, and you can take the original transcript with you for any future purposes.

- Voluntary additional credits

If you submit additional General Studies certificates that exceed the 180 CPs required by the examination regulations, these will be listed as voluntary additional credits and will not be included in the calculation of your overall grade. Voluntary additional credits are only listed on your transcript with a grade and not with CP, as you cannot achieve more than 180 CP in total in your bachelor's program.
