Doshisha University's Institute for the Liberal Arts (Kyoto), in collaboration with the University of Bremen, is hosting its first sociolinguistics colloquium for graduate students, postdocs, and early-career researchers. Held in-person on 12 July 2025 at Doshisha (Imadegawa campus), the event aims to connect emerging scholars and offer constructive feedback on ongoing research.
This new sociolinguistics colloquium in cooperation of Doshisha University and the University of Bremen invites graduate students, postdocs, and early-career researchers to share and discuss their ongoing work in a supportive setting. The event fosters connections among emerging scholars and offers in-depth feedback through short presentations followed by extended discussions. Sessions will be grouped by research themes, and informal conversations will be encouraged throughout the day.
Leon Grausam will present his current work under the title "From Practice to Paradigm – Building Theoretical Foundations for the Underdefined Concept of Language Activism".
