Goals and Motivation
The goal of the Control, Microsystems, Microelectronics (CMM) Master Program is to provide an environment for students to acquire the required knowledge (from both the technical and organizational context) that is necessary for understanding modern microsystems, automation systems and their relevant components. During the study courses, the student's project and the final master thesis, the students learn the basic scientific concepts, methods and the current state-of-the-art of the field. The core of the CMM program are control engineering, microelectronics and microsystems, however also courses in process automation and mechatronics, e.g. robot and vehicle control, are available. All courses provide both theoretical and practical knowledge.
The students also have the option to choose some elective courses according to their preference and priorities. These elective courses help the students to strengthen their understanding and studies. The students also have the chance to do their student's project and master thesis on topics within ongoing industry-related research projects that the different research groups at the university have. This helps the students to learn what current state of the art research is being performed. The master program is structured in a way that students have many opportunities to acquire additional skills that will help them in their future careers. This is included in the lectures, labs, exercises, seminars, mini project and master thesis, some of which require presentations as well as the documentation of the student's work in scientific reports.
