Since 2015, Prof. Dr. Marius Gros is a Professor of Finance and Accounting at the University of Bremen and since April 2019, he serves as a Visiting Professor of Financial Accounting at the Goethe University Frankfurt. Additionally, he is a lecturer at Vietnamese-German University in Binh Duong New City. In 2010, he was awarded a German Ph.D. equivalent (“Dr. rer. pol.”) at the Goethe University Frankfurt for his dissertation at the intersection between financial reporting and comparative law. At the same university, in 2015, he earned a German postdoctoral degree (“Habilitation”) for his empirical studies on capital market regulation and enforcement. As a visiting professor and lecturer, he already taught courses at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, at the Heidelberg University, at the Institute for Law and Finance (Goethe University Frankfurt) and the DHBW Mosbach. His research interests lie within the area of national and international accounting and corporate governance. Focusing on monitoring and enforcement mechanisms, standard-setting and the impact of management incentives on accounting, his work is published in peer-reviewed international scientific journals. Moreover, he is a co-editor of the “Beck’sches Handbuch der Rechnungslegung” and the commentary “Kommentar Bilanzrecht”, both of which are published by the “C.H. Beck-Verlag”. Since 2017, he volunteers as an appointed member of a consultative working group at the European Securities Market Agency (ESMA) and since 2019, he volunteers as an appointed member of the board of examiners for auditors at the German chamber of auditors (“Wirtschaftsprüferkammer”).
