MAIR 1.0
MA International Relations: Global Governance and Social Theory
In the winter semester 2023/24, a new version of the MA International Relations (MAIR) will be launched. While this new program, which goes by the name “International Relations: Global Politics and Social Theory”, is described in the other sections of this website, this section is devoted to the “old” version called “International Relations: Global Governance and Social Theory”. Unlike the new program, the MAIR 1.0 is a joint enterprise by two universities: the University of Bremen and Constructor University Bremen (fka Jacobs University Bremen). Formally, the program will continue to exist until September 2027, although applications are no longer possible. This will give students enrolled in the MAIR 1.0 plenty of time to finish their studies and to graduate. For them nothing will change with the introduction of the new program. Instructors from both universities will continue to administer exams (including make-up exams) and serve as supervisors of MA theses. Students should be aware, however, that seminars specific to the "old" version of the MAIR are being phased out. As a result, seminars they choose to postpone may have to be replaced with an appropriate alternative (in consultation with and with the prior consent of the program chairs).
