Michael Bonfert hosting the Opening Ceremony at the Heidelberg Laureate Forum 2025

Rainer Malaka and Michael Bonfert, one of our former employees, were once again represented at this year's Heidelberg Laureate Forum.

Rainer Malaka along with Michael Bonfert, one of our alumni were together at the Heidelberg Laureate Forum. Michael even had the honor of moderating the Opening Ceremony. He received his doctorate in 2024 from the Digital Media Lab with his dissertation ?Unraveling the fidelity of virtual reality interactions: effects of realism in object manipulation and embodiment“.

The twelfth Heidelberg Laureate Forum (HLF) took place this year from September 14 to 19. Every year, the HLF brings together distinguished laureates, winners of prestigious prizes such as the Abel Prize, Turing Award, Fields Medal, and Nevanlinna Prize, with promising young scientists from around the world. The aim of the event is to bring together emerging young scientists in the fields of mathematics and computer science with outstanding award winners for interdisciplinary exchange. This year, the focus was particularly on the role of artificial intelligence and the topic of scientific integrity.
