The E-Science-Tage 2025 served as a key interdisciplinary platform for exchange between experts from research, infrastructure, and policy. The conference focused on current challenges in research data management (RDM) – including data quality assurance, the use of AI, publication processes, and cross-institutional coordination.

On March 13, DSC Coordinator Lena Steinmann presented the talk ?DataNord: Empowering Data Literacy – Strengthening Bremen’s Research“ in the Data Literacy session.

At the heart of the presentation was DataNord , the interdisciplinary data competence center for the Bremen region, developed within the framework of the U Bremen Research Alliance and coordinated by the University of Bremen / the DSC. As one of eleven nationwide data competence centers funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), DataNord aims to strengthen data literacy across all career levels and to establish a sustainable FAIR data culture.

Key elements introduced included the DSC’s training and consulting services as well as the interdisciplinary doctoral program Data Train .

With a wide range of training opportunities, expert consulting, community formats, and inter-institutional collaborations, DataNord plays a vital role in advancing the regional RDM ecosystem – and serves as a model initiative for other regions in Germany.

We are pleased to have contributed once again to the E-Science-Tage and to have engaged in such enriching discussions following the presentation.
