Empowering Education: AI4Ed initiative makes progress in Zre?e with the support of the Data Science Center

On May 7th and 8th, the project meeting provided a stage for the six partner organizations to assess the advancements and chart the trajectory for educational innovation. Leveraging her expertise data steward Heike Th?richt provided invaluable guidance on data management.

The AI4Ed initiative funded by the European Union continues to pave the way for transformative changes in education by leveraging cutting-edge technologies and innovative pedagogies. In its fourth 2-day project meeting held in Zre?e Slowenia, the focus remained on redefining teaching-learning processes through the integration of AI and exploring new methodologies to meet the demands of modern education.

Update on Data Collection for Use Cases

The meeting commenced with a comprehensive update on the progress of data collection for various use cases at the University of Bremen, Instituto de Máquina-Herramienta (Spain), Centro de Forma??o Profissional da Indústria Metalúrgica e Metalomec?nica (Portugal) and School center Slovenske Konjice-Zre?e (Slovenia). Different challenges (e.g. what data can be collected in the learning system Moodle), potential solutions and next steps were discussed.

Capacity Building for Teachers and Students

A pivotal aspect of the AI4Ed initiative is the empowerment of educators and students through targeted capacity-building initiatives. Day 2 of the meeting delved into the continued creation of training modules designed to enhance proficiency in artificial intelligence, ethics, data management and active teaching methodologies. For this task Heike Th?richt is creating a training module about research data, data management plans and FAIR principles in a joint Moodle platform provided by one of the project partners.

The fourth 2-day project meeting of AI4Ed marked another significant milestone in the journey towards reimagining education through AI-driven innovation and the project partners are highly motivated in continuing the next steps in the project.
