Prof. Dr. Marc Avila

Marc Avila is director of the Center of Applied Space Technology and Microgravity and professor of fluid mechanics at the University of Bremen. He studied mathematics at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and at the University of Glasgow, and obtained a PhD in applied physics and scientific computing from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. He received the Euromech Young Scientist Award and the Richard-von-Mises Prize of the GAMM. He researches fluid flows arising in aerospace, mechanical and process engineering.
