How Do We Secure the Future of Care?

Staff shortages, rising co-payments in nursing homes, and deficits in social long-term care insurance – these are issues we constantly hear about. At the same time, two out of three men and five out of six women will require long-term care at some point in their lives. This clearly highlights the need for action. Together with the SOCIUM Social Policy Research Center at the University of Bremen and the Integrated Health Campus Bremen, we invite you to a panel discussion on the most pressing challenges and necessary decisions following the federal elections.

Our Panel:

? Judith Burgmeier, co-founder of vielf?ltig. GmbH, an ambulatory care service in Bremen,
? Jutta Dernedde, Chairwoman of the Medical Service Bremen,
? Reinhard Leopold, who has been actively involved in the health, care, and social sectors for many years, including with the BIVA Nursing Protection Association, the self-help initiative "Heim-Mitwirkung", and “wir pflegen - Advocacy and Self-Help for Family Caregivers e.V.”
? Prof. Dr. Heinz Rothgang, Health and Long-Term Care Economist at the SOCIUM Research Center for Inequality and Social Policy, University of Bremen.

The discussion, followed by a get-together, will take place on May 21, 2025, at 6:00 PM at the Haus der Wissenschaft.
