Article About DataNord Published in the Proceedings of the E-Science-Days 2025

Mid-March, the E-Science-Days 2025 took place in Heidelberg. The theme of this year's conference was "Research Data Management: Challenges in a Changing World". DSC coordinator Dr. Lena Steinmann attended the conference to give a presentation on the data competence center "DataNord".

The E-Science-Days are an interdisciplinary conference focusing on the topics of research data management (RDM) and open science. The event serves as a central forum for discussion and exchange between experts from science, politics, and infrastructure. This year, the thematic focus of the conference was on current challenges around RDM and research data infrastructures, such as ensuring data quality and dealing with artificial intelligence and current (geo-)political developments.

The Data Science Center also attended this year's conference and was represented by DSC coordinator Dr. Lena Steinmann (we report here). In the session "Data Literacy" she gave a talk on the interdisciplinary data competence center of the Bremen region "DataNord", which aims to strengthen data literacy across all career levels and establish a sustainable FAIR data culture.

The contributions to the conference have now been published in the conference proceedings of the E-Science-Days 2025.  The collection also includes the article "Bremen's interdisciplinary data competence center DataNord: An integrative approach for data literacy in research". The contribution gives an overview of the DataNord initiative and introduces its approach, offers, and activities in more detail.

The complete proceedings of the E-Science-Days 2025 are available at bookshops and can be accessed online here. Our article can be found here.
