CHE ranking emphasises the strengths of the faculty

This year's CHE ranking also emphasises the strengths of Faculty 10. In German Studies, it is the good support at the beginning of the degree programme. In Romance Studies, the University of Bremen has a particularly high number of doctorates per professor.

Student judgements and other indicators, such as research performance, international orientation and the practical relevance of the degree programme, were used for the current ranking. The subject groups analysed were Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Educational Science, German Studies, Mechanical Engineering, Materials and Process Engineering, Mechatronics, Psychology and Romance Studies. Each subject group included both Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes.

In three areas, subject groups at the University of Bremen belong to the top group: Physics and Educational Science scored particularly well in the acquisition of third-party funding, while German Studies and Mechanical Engineering were emphasised for their particularly good support at the start of studies. In Romance Studies, the University of Bremen has a particularly high number of doctorates per professor.

In the category "International orientation of studies and teaching", the Master's degree programme in Space Engineering also achieved a top position.

"In the CHE ranking, the University of Bremen has long occupied top positions both in terms of support at the start of studies and in the acquisition of third-party funding," says Professor Maren Petersen, Vice-Rector for Teaching and Studies at the University of Bremen. "This shows that excellent research and good study conditions go hand in hand here."

About the CHE Ranking

The CHE University Ranking is the most comprehensive comparison of universities in the German-speaking world. It offers assessments of more than 10,000 degree programmes at German universities. Around 120,000 students were surveyed for the current ranking. In addition to facts about studying, teaching and research, the ranking also assesses how students rate the practical relevance of their degree programmes and career preparation measures.
