Dr. Manish Kumar
Dr. Manish Kumar (b. 1990) is a postdoctoral researcher in the Solid State Materials group at the Institute of Solid State Physics (IFP).
He leads the activities of electrochemical and biochemical sensors. This includes photoelectrochemical sensors based on group III-nitride nanowires and hybride nanostructures.
He also works on the application of GaN-based electrolyte-gate field effect transistors as enzyme-modified transistors and for the detection of cardiac electrical activity within the SINDynamik project.
These activities include the immobilization of biomolecules such as different enzymes on the surface of semiconductor devices and nanostructures.
In 2017, Dr. Kumar has obtained PhD degree in natural sciences from the Leibniz University Hannover on the topic “Energy transfer and -conversion by functionalized nano-bio-fibers for biomedical applications” (Prof. Dr. Franz Renz). After that, he worked in the field of biomaterials at Oulu University in Finland and Hokkaido University in Japan.
He has received the best student award from the Society for Biomaterials, USA, and JSPS postdoctoral fellowship, Japan.
