About Me

Louren?o A. Rodrigues holds an M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, Portugal (2021). He specialized in biosignal processing and worked as a signal processing and machine learning engineer at CardioID Technologies Lda., Portugal, from 2019 to 2023. At CardioID, he contributed to the development of advanced systems for heart rate variability monitoring and EKG-based biometrics, applying deep domain knowledge of cardiovascular physiology to address the challenges presented by real-world data.

Currently pursuing his PhD at the Cognitive Systems Lab, Bremen, Germany, Louren?o’s research focuses on modeling causal mechanisms in physiological systems through data augmentation functions. His goal is to construct foundational models that can understand and simulate the dynamic progression of diseases and functional impairments throughout the human lifespan.
