Our services in detail:
Anyone can become in need of care, whether young or old: for example, through an accident, a serious illness, or simply by getting older.
It is therefore all the more important to receive competent and rapid support in such a case. All interested persons are welcome!
The Pflegestammtisch takes place in a trusting and open atmosphere.
Female students are particularly protected during pregnancy, the postpartum period and while breastfeeding. This is because the Maternity Protection Act also applies to women who are expecting a child or have given birth during their studies. This is to ensure that expectant mothers and their children can study without endangering their health. Female students can only take advantage of the legal protections if they have informed the university that they are pregnant or breastfeeding. Therefore, it is in their best interest to notify the university as early as possible.
Please use the following forms to officially report your pregnancy:
Notification of pregnancy or breastfeeding
Overview of your courses/seminars
Please send the filled out forms as a PDF file to:familienprotect me ?!vw.uni-bremenprotect me ?!.de
The University of Bremen will cover the costs for certificates in connection with maternity leave if these are required as part of your studies or compulsory internship.
Please lay out the amounts first.
You can find the cost reimbursement form here hier
The Family Care Office regularly organizes a networking meeting for pregnant students. The goal is to exchange ideas and network with each other.
What we offer: A safe space with an open atmosphere where friendliness and openness are the norm. We get to know each other, support each other, and share thoughts and experiences.
Registration is required for this meeting.
Sometimes it happens that we have to come to the university with our children and we don't know where the family-friendly places are in the busy areas of the university.
Our office offers a tour of University Boulevard where you can learn, for example, where the changing tables, family rooms, lactation rooms, microwave ovens, etc. are located.
If you would like to take part in this tour, please send an e-mail to the Family Care Office
Childcare models for different needs:
Childcare on campus
The university offers different models depending on the stutus group
Different childcare formats are offered on campus and in the state of Bremen. Therefore, parents should consider which form of care and location (close to home or on campus) fits their living situation. After researching on the Internet, parents can get a personal impression of the care facility and make an appointment to visit.
Information for the pregnant woman
Exploring insecurities and contradictions during pregnancy is an important process and a necessary inner examination of what is possible and what is not. Careful assessment of one's own strengths, powers and reserves, but also of possible pitfalls and stumbling blocks, is important for a sustainable decision that one can also defend in the future. Whatever the outcome, it becomes an important part of one's own life story.
Many go through this clarification process together with their partner and can rely on him to carry the decision with them. But not all women have a partner, a helpful circle of friends or family members to guide them along the path to a good decision. Especially then, independent counseling by a pregnancy counseling center can support and help with clarification.
Before and after the birth, there are many administrative procedures and other appointments to take care of. Here you will find all the important information at a glance.
Pregnant women can call 0800 40 40 020 around the clock for free and qualified initial counseling anonymous and secure.
The helpline also refers pregnant women to local counseling centers. The advice is anonymous, barrier-free and is offered in several languages.
