i2b meet-up ‘AI in Health: Biosignals meet health & care’ with Prof. Karin Wolf-Ostermann from the Institute for Public Health and Nursing Research (IPP)

Panel discussion with Prof. Karin Wolf-Ostermann from the IPP on the topic of “Biosignals meet health & care”

As part of the Bremen symposium “AI in Health,” an evening event and panel discussion on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in health, care, and healthcare took place at the Bremen Chamber of Commerce. Prof. Karin Wolf-Ostermann from the IPP was among the panelists. The sold-out event focused in particular on the potential of biosignal processing, i.e., the low-threshold recording and AI-based interpretation of physiological and neural signals generated by the human body during daily activities such as speaking, moving, or acting. What contribution are technologies and applications based on biosignals already making in healthcare today, and what can we expect in the future in this rapidly growing field? AI-based interpretation can help to identify risks better and earlier, relieve staff, improve patient safety, and enable personalized care. These opportunities and advantages, as well as critical aspects, were presented and discussed. The i2b meet up was organized by idea 2 business GmbH (i2b), the largest innovation, business, and science network in northwestern Germany with 26,000 members.
