bime - Bremen Institute for Structural Mechanics and Production Systems

The Bremen Institute for Structural Mechanics and Production Systems (bime) is an institute of the University of Bremen. It was founded in mid-2008 by merging the three departments of Production Facilities, Technical Mechanics - Structural Mechanics and Production Design at the Faculty of Production Engineering - Mechanical Engineering and Process Engineering.

Members of the bime are involved in national as well as international projects and collaborations, working in fundamental research and industrial research cooperation. In its research, the bime is concerned with the development and operation of production facilites, from basic mechanical design, mechatronic components and control technology to facility operation and production logistics.
