Postdoctoral lecture qualification
The habilitation serves to demonstrate special scientific achievements and aims to determine in a formal procedure the special ability to carry out independent scientific work in research and teaching in a specific subject area.
Admission to the habilitation generally requires a completed university degree and a doctorate. Furthermore, it usually requires additional academic work in the subject area for which the habilitation is sought.
The department council decides on admission to the habilitation.
Habilitation regulations of the University of Bremen (new version from December 13, 1999)
