Algebra and topology

Algebra and Topology are core disciplines of Pure Mathematics. At [ALTA] we pursue research on Algebra and Topology with a strong emphasis on interrelations with Geometry and Combinatorics, and Theoretical Computer Science. On the theoretical end, Category Theory and Discrete Mathematics often provide the tools to introduce and to study unifying structures. On the applied side, the modern field of Applied and Computational Topology  deals with the problems from the exact sciences, computer science, and industry, and provides new structures for mathematically rigorous study.
