Particify - Audience Response System

With Particify, you can very easily ask knowledge questions, collect information, carry out lecture hall experiments, collect questions from students and gather feedback before, during and after a course. Students can participate immediately and without installation or registration via their smartphone, tablet or notebook/laptop. The results can be presented and discussed via projector immediately after the survey is completed.

Particify is hosted by the Centre for Multimedia in Teaching (ZMML) at the University of Bremen. It is GDPR-compliant, does not pass on any data to third parties and can be used by all members of the university. Particify is the replacement to ARSnova, both systems will still be available in parallel in the summer semester 2024. After the end of the summer semester 2024, ARSnova will be switched off; data from ARSnova can be exported as csv, but it is not possible to import it into Particify.

Teachers can easily log in to particify.zmml.de with their university account. Simply click on the icon at the top right of the Particify page and then enter your university account data. Or you can click directly in the "Create room" field, which will also take you to the login page.

    With these two teaching methods you can dynamically adapt your teaching content to the learning level of the students: Ask your students questions about their level of knowledge before the course with the JiTT method (Novak et al. 1999) or find out about their learning progress during the course with Peer Instruction. (Mazur 1997).
    "Students are given a clearly formulated study assignment before the course, followed by an online quiz. The student questions and problems resulting from the quiz lead to an adaptation of the course. In presence in the lecture hall or live online with a video conferencing system, discussion in small groups, called "Peer Instruction" (PI), can be used as a further teaching method."

  • Just in Time Teaching (JiTT) in the natural sciences: Field report by 2017 Ars legendi award winners Prof. Dr. Claudia Sch?fle, Prof. Dr. Silke Stanzel and Prof. Dr. Elmar Junker from Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences.
    They use "Just in Time Teaching" (JiTT), a method in which students prepare themselves independently using given literature and provide feedback on their understanding via online tests. This enables lecturers to adapt the course content at short notice in order to specifically address comprehension difficulties. The method also includes peer instruction, in which students improve their understanding through discussions with each other. the Lecturers at Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences report increased student engagement and more effective use of teaching time.

Let participants have their say anonymously. Questions can be prioritized and easily moderated.

Live feedback:
Get a picture of the mood. Find out in just a few seconds how well your audience is following you and start a spontaneous poll.

Word clouds:
Use word clouds for brainstorming sessions, as an icebreaker or to collect ideas. Participants can answer with 1 to 10 keywords. A word cloud is then generated from the relative frequency of the terms.
