Career Camp
Module description and learning oucome
During an intensive career week, in the lecture free time in March/April students participate in many different event formats related to career orientation, career entry and career development. A wide variety of companies and potential employers present possible fields of work and occupations. Furthermore, there are workshops, 1:1 coaching sessions, panel discussions. During company excursions and career networking evenings there is the possibility to get into a casual exchange with many company representatives.
Learning objectives - depending on the program design
- Identify own potentials, strengths and weaknesses
- Knowledge of possible career options
- Knowledge of possible occupational fields in relation to the study programs of FB 07
- Knowledge about modern application strategies and about strategies for a successful career entry and further career development nationally/internationally
- Skills for self-presentation
- Getting to know agile working methods and agile project management (New Work)
- Basics of programming
- Networking skills and communication strategies with companies or potential employersElective area of General Studies.
- By choice, knowledge in the following areas:
- working in an intercultural environment
- internet-based networking portals (XING, LinkedIn, career portal of FB 07)
- specifics regarding an academic career
- presenting research results (poster design, presentation)
- business start-up
- assessment center training
- salary, taxes, contracts
