DAAD Language certificate
Issue of certificate on the basis of previous courses
The DAAD language certificate can be issued on the basis of language modules/language courses that you have passed as part of your studies at one of the universities in the state of Bremen or at the SZHB.
The language certificate confirms the target level achieved in the module/course.

You can take a DAAD exam in English at the SZHB. To do so, we ask that you first check your current language level by taking the C-Test (a placement test).
We recommend that you only take the DAAD English exam if you have achieved a C-Test result of B 2.2 or higher.
If your language level is below B 2.2, please send us an email requesting assistance.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with a payment request¡ªthe exam fee is €20.
The DAAD English exam takes place on-site and consists of the following parts:
- Reading an academic text (600 words) and summarizing the main content in 180 to 200 words.
Duration: 60 minutes - This is followed by an oral exam/discussion based on the topic presented in the text (duration: 15 minutes)
A maximum of five people are admitted to each exam session.
The DAAD language certificate is issued shortly after the exam.

Tests to assess skills in other languages
You can take a DAAD exam at the SZHB for the following languages: Italian, Polish, Portuguese/Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian.
Individual appointments can be arranged directly with the teachers for these languages (see contact details below).
The DAAD exam for all of the above languages consists of the following parts:
- Reading a text and answering questions about its content in writing (the duration varies depending on the level)
- This is followed by an oral exam based on the topic presented in the text (duration: 10-15 minutes)
