Documents for enrolment
The documents must be submitted in paper form and signed by you in the original.
You can bring and hand them in in person, post them here or send them by post (you are responsible for postage and any customs duties for items sent from abroad; the University of Bremen does not cover these costs).
Submission by e-mail is not possible.
Only a simple copy of the university entrance qualification and language certificates must be submitted.
Note: The original certificate can be requested at any time to verify its authenticity.
Documents in English:
Documents issued in the original English language will be accepted by us and do not need to be translated
Documents in other languages:
Documents that were not issued in German or English must be translated into German Only translations prepared by a translation agency sworn in for courts and notaries in Germany for the respective language can be accepted
Documents translated outside Germany
If you have had your documents translated outside Germany, you can ask a German diplomatic representation (embassy/consulate) for confirmation It is important that the embassy/consulate confirms that the content of the translation corresponds to the original Official certification of the documents by the German embassy or an apostille is not sufficient
There is also the option of contacting a sworn translation agency in Germany with the documents that have already been translated If the sworn translation agency officially confirms that the translation is correct (with a stamp and signature), this can also be accepted
Please note If you submit documents that have not been adequately translated, we will inform you by e-mail For enrollment, all documents must be received on time and in the form described
The health insurance certificate is transmitted digitally to the University of Bremen by the statutory health insurance companies. This eliminates the need for a separate confirmation from your health insurance.
The notification is transmitted exclusively by the statutory health insurance companies and proves either that you:
- are insured with a statutory health insurance fund or
- are not compulsorily insured.
Statutorily insured persons:
Please contact your health insurance fund.
Privately insured persons:
Please contact a statutory health insurance company of your choice.
No enrollment will take place without a valid health insurance certificate.
The university number of the University of Bremen for the electronic transmission of health insurance data is: H0002687.
